There are many features and benefits to the Heart Sync line of defibrillator pads for a prospective customer to consider. An additional capability that we offer is the ability to produce a private label brand of pads specifically designed for an organization who would like defibrillator pads of their own. We have a number of customers right now who are specifically interested in Heart Sync because of our ability to produce defib pads for their particular organization. There are numerous organizations out there that are pursuing private labeling with Heart Sync as part of their business model.

Medtronic announces job cuts, plans to sell Physio-Control Inc

Medtronic Inc (Minneapolis, MN) plans to cut 1,500 to 2,000 jobs and renew efforts to sell or spin off the Physio-Control Inc unit that makes emergency response gear and portable heart devices. Physio-Control’s profit margins are some of the lowest in the company, and three years ago quality issues led the company to halt sales. The unit resumed shipping products worldwide in 2009. The cuts will include about four to five percent of its employees with voluntary programs and layoffs. Additional details were not disclosed.
